Stop Binge Eating
Find a quiet, comfortable place, press play and let your mind settle as you build a calmer relationship with food.
For your safety, please don't listen while driving or doing anything that needs your full attention.
Why do we binge eat?
Binge eating is often triggered by emotional factors like stress, anxiety or depression. It can also be linked to restrictive dieting, low self-esteem, or using food as a way to cope with difficult feelings.
It can easily become a cycle. After a binge you may feel guilt or shame, and those painful feelings can then fuel further bingeing as a form of comfort.
Understanding what drives that cycle is the first step towards breaking it, and it's nothing to be ashamed of.
How hypnosis can help you manage binge eating
Hypnosis works with the subconscious triggers behind overeating, creating a mental shift towards a healthier relationship with food. It can help you:
Reduce emotional eating
Hypnosis can help change how you respond to stress, so you can manage difficult emotions without turning to food.
Increase self-awareness
It helps you become more mindful of your eating patterns and emotions, breaking the automatic cycle of bingeing.
Change habits
Hypnosis can help replace old habits with healthier ways of coping, such as relaxation techniques or mindful eating.
Feel more in control
It helps you pause when an urge arrives, so you have more choice about how you respond, without relying on strict rules or willpower.
When binge eating feels hard to break on your own
A hypnosis session can be a helpful first step. If bingeing happens often, or guilt and shame around food are affecting your life, working with a clinical hypnotherapist, counsellor or CBT therapist can help you understand what drives it and find new ways to cope.
You can see your therapist in person at our Fareham practice in Hampshire, or online from anywhere in the UK.

Questions about binge eating hypnosis
Is this binge eating hypnosis session free?
Yes. You can listen here as often as you like, or download it to listen offline, with nothing to sign up for. For more sessions, take a look at our hypnosis downloads.
When is the best time to listen?
Choose a quiet time when you won't be disturbed, such as in the evening as you wind down, or at a time of day when urges tend to feel stronger. Sit or lie somewhere comfortable, and listen regularly to get the most from it.
Is binge eating an eating disorder?
Binge eating disorder is a recognised eating disorder, and it is more common than many people realise. If you binge regularly, it's worth speaking to your GP. Beat, the UK's eating disorder charity, also offers free support and information.
Is hypnosis safe?
Hypnosis is a natural, relaxed state of focused attention, and you stay in control throughout. Never listen while driving or doing anything that needs your full attention. If you have an eating disorder or another medical or mental health condition and aren't sure whether hypnosis is right for you, check with your GP first.
What if I need more support?
Binge eating usually has emotional roots, so it helps to work on what's underneath rather than the food alone. One to one hypnotherapy, counselling or CBT can help you understand your triggers and build kinder ways of coping.
