When the fear decides where you can and cannot go
Fear of flying, sometimes called aviophobia, is a phobia in which the thought or experience of air travel triggers an anxiety response, ranging from a knot of dread to a full panic attack.
For some people it starts at the mere thought of flying, or the sight of an aeroplane. It can mean turning down the holiday, the wedding, the promotion that needs travel.
It does not have to stay that way. With the right support, the fear that feels so fixed can lift, often surprisingly quickly, and flying can become something you simply do.

What is really happening up there?
So much of the fear is our mind reading a normal sensation as danger. Tap each moment to hear what is actually going on.
Commercial flying is consistently one of the safest forms of travel. Hypnotherapy helps your mind truly believe what the facts already say.
How hypnotherapy helps you fly with calm
We work with the anxiety at its root, so flying stops feeling like something to survive and starts feeling like something you can do.
Deep relaxation
We teach your body and mind to drop into genuine calm, so the anxiety that builds before and during a flight has far less to grip onto.
Reframing the fear
Through guided visualisation, we transform the thoughts and images your mind attaches to flying, turning dread into quiet confidence.
Gentle desensitisation
We safely rehearse the sensations of flying, so your fear response fades and the whole experience begins to feel ordinary.
Rehearse the flight before you fly, with VR therapy
We use Virtual Reality therapy to help you experience flying in a safe, controlled way, building calm from take-off to landing long before you reach the airport. It is a powerful, modern way to retrain your response to the things you once feared.
Discover VR therapyA fear of flying is far more common than most people realise.
Plenty of the calm-looking passengers around you have felt exactly what you feel. It is also one of the most treatable fears there is, and it does not have to be yours for much longer.

Think of everywhere you could finally go
The beach you have always dreamed of. The wedding on the other side of the world. The family you have not hugged in years. The job that needed someone willing to travel.
When the fear lifts, the map opens back up. That is what this work is really about, giving you your freedom to go back.

Common questions about fear of flying
Can hypnotherapy really help my fear of flying?
Yes, very often. Fear of flying is a phobia, and phobias tend to respond well to hypnotherapy because we work directly with the anxiety response rather than relying on willpower in the moment.
How many sessions will I need?
Many people need only a few. Phobias often shift more quickly than longer-standing issues. In your free consultation we will give you an honest sense of what to expect.
How much does it cost?
The initial consultation is free. Sessions are £90 for 50 minutes, or £504 for a six-session programme if you need it. All prices include VAT.
How long before my flight should I book?
A few weeks gives us room to work properly and lets you practise the tools before you travel. That said, people do come to us with a flight days away, and we will do what we can in the time available. Sooner is easier, but late is better than not at all.
What if I have never flown, or have not flown in years?
That is very common and not a problem. Some of the strongest fears belong to people who have never flown at all, because the mind has had free rein to imagine it. We work with the anxiety response itself, which does not require past experience.
What if I panic on the plane?
We give you practical, easy-to-use tools to calm your body and mind in the moment, so you feel equipped rather than at the mercy of the fear.
But is flying actually safe?
Yes. Commercial air travel is consistently one of the safest forms of travel there is. Aircraft are built to handle far more than they ever meet, including turbulence. Our work helps your mind truly feel what the facts already show.
Do you offer VR therapy for fear of flying?
Yes. We use Virtual Reality therapy to let you safely rehearse the experience of flying and build calm before your trip.
Can it be done online?
Yes. We help people in person in Fareham, Hampshire, and securely online wherever they are in the world, ideal for preparing well ahead of a trip.
“Well, I did it! I panicked twice on both flights when the seatbelt lights came on, but was a lot more relaxed than normal for the rest of the flights. Needless to say, NYC and Canada were well and truly worth it. Thank you for all your help and guidance with everything.”
